I made my first trip to Brazil in 1969 as a 17-year-old exchange student. I lived with a Brazilian family in Niterói, a city located directly across Guanabara Bay from the city of Rio de Janeiro. This was the beginning of what has turned out to be a life-long love affair with that fascinating, chaotic, amazing country.
Since then, I have made a total of 11 trips to Brazil. Many (although not all) of the photos contained in this website are from a particularly memorable trip during the Brazilian summer (January, February and March) of 1988.
